Care & warranty

Acetate is a natural material and behaves like one. Looked after, a frame outlasts several prescriptions.

Cleaning

The single biggest cause of scratched lenses is dry wiping.

  • Rinse under lukewarm water before wiping — dust is abrasive.
  • A drop of unperfumed washing-up liquid, then rinse and dry with the supplied cloth.
  • Never use alcohol, glass cleaner, or anything with ammonia. Coatings do not survive it.
  • Paper, sleeves and shirt tails all scratch. Use the cloth.

Storage

  • In the case, closed, whenever they are not on your face.
  • Never lens-down on a hard surface.
  • Not on the dashboard — heat warps acetate and loosens hinges.
  • Take them off with both hands. One-handed removal is what bends frames out of true.

Adjustment

Acetate softens under gentle heat and can be reshaped. That is a job for an optician with a frame warmer, not a hairdryer.

  • Any Mori stockist will adjust a frame bought from us.
  • Frames settle after the first week; a small tweak then is normal.
